BasketBall

Who Invented Basketball: , Canadian Dr. James Naismith, a physical education professor
Where: at the International Young Men's Christian Association Training School (YMCA) (today, Springfield College) in Springfield, Massachusetts
When: In early December 18, 1891
How: He sought a vigorous indoor game to keep his students occupied and at proper levels of fitness during the long New England winters. After rejecting other ideas as either too rough or poorly suited to walled-in gymnasiums, he wrote the basic rules and nailed a peach basket onto a 10-foot elevated track.
Why: trying to keep his gym class active on a rainy day.
What were the circumstances at the beginning: make it fair for all players and not too rough.
What was it like from the start: A peach basket and a Soccer Ball
What types of shots were taken-, tossed the ball up between the two center men & tried to keep them somewhat near the rules. Most of the fouls were called for running with the ball, though tackling the man with the ball was not uncommon.
How is basketball different today than when it first started- Well Now There is 5 players on the court for each team and now we have them dribble the basketball, now there are rules for how they’re supposed to play the game and now they kept the hoop 10ft but now players can dunk and gets very exiting when a player dunks !!! Three pointers are now established and fouls and also technical fouls.
